These replacement locks feature a cam-locking design that is most common on single-hung and double-hung vertical sliding windows. Each lock engages into a face-mount style keeper, not included with this item, as it is intended only to replace missing or malfunctioning lock bodies. A lock keeper is not included with this item, but if a keeper is also necessary, kindly see manufacturer part number F 2755. The upper, outermost sash on vertical sliding windows determines if it is a “single hung” or “double hung.” If the upper, outermost sash is non-movable, then it is a single hung window. A “double hung” window refers to both sash having the ability to slide up and down for ventilation purposes, and these sash locks can fit on both model types. The locks are constructed of diecast zinc and come in a corrosion-resistant, industry standard, almond-painted finish to match existing almond-colored keepers. Depending on the width of the windows, these locks can be used as singles or in pairs. Each set includes one lock, installation fasteners and simple instructions. Installation of these locks is quick and easy and can be done with a simple handheld Phillips head screwdriver. These locks align best with 2-1/16 inch mounting hole centers.
